GIOS RENEWS ITS SPONSORSHIP WITH MANZANA POSTOBÓN TEAM

GIOS has renewed its sponsorship for one more season with Manzana Postobón Team Continental Pro.

In this way GIOS will continue to be the Official Technical Supplier of the Manzana Postobón team throughout 2019, thus acting as team sponsor for the fourth consecutive year.

Manzana Postobón is a brand linked to the history and trajectory of world cycling.  In the 80s and 90s the team was a major protagonist in numerous European races, with great names like Reynel Montoya, Pablo Wilches, Álvaro Mejía, Óscar de J. Vargas, or Lucho Herrera, among others.  A group of talented young riders now fly these colours, to return the brand to the highest level of Colombian and world national cycling, competing in Continental Pro since 2017.

GIOS CELEBRATES ITS 70TH ANNIVERSARY (1948-2018)

In 2018 Gios is celebrating 70 years since the creation of the brand (1948-2018).

In 1958, Mr Alfredo Gios started to work in the family city bike business founded ten years earlier by his father Tolmino, who had been an excellent professional cyclist in the late 1930s. His victories led him to be called to be part of the Italian national team that participated in the 1936 Berlin Olympics.

Since then, GIOS became a benchmark in the world of cycling thanks to the great victories achieved under its “BLUE GIOS” colour, including all six seasons of fruitful collaboration with the KELME team in the 1990s.

For 70 years the GIOS company has manufactured racing frames and bikes for top-level professional use, constantly investing in innovation and technology to adapt to the demands of this sport. The “corsa” frames by GIOS are a reference-standard for many champions and for decades they have been used by the top professional teams in the world’s most important races.

Since 2015 GIOS has been the technical partner of the legendary Colombian MANZANA POSTOBÓN team, and 2019 will mark the fourth season of the GIOS-Manzana Postobón sponsorship arrangement.
