GIOS_Kiwi Atlántico (Continental cycling team): NEW DENOMINATION OF THE GALICIAN (SPAIN) CONTINENTAL CYCLING TEAM
The international bicycle brand GIOS, will be the main sponsor of the Team effective from the 2020 season.
Since now on GIOS_Kiwi atlántico will be the new name of the Galician cycling team that competes in the Continental UCI category.
GIOS has signed a sponsorship deal for the next 2 seasons thanks to which it will become the main sponsor of the Team together with the spanish brand KIWI Atlántico.
“For GIOS to be the main sponsor of this Team represents a significant step ahead as it will be the first time that our brand will give its name as first sponsor to a Continental UCI team. Our target for this coming season is to position the Team among the most internationally recognized Spanish cycling teams”, says Luca Gios (Managing Director – GIOS International).
GIOS is a worldwide famous brand of Italian origin with more than 70 years of history and a great recognition in the cycling world thanks to the important victories during its nearly 50 years of sponsoring at professional level. The ‘90s were the golden years for GIOS with the 6 years technical supplier deal with the KELME cycling team delivering lots of successes that have become part of the history of spanish cycling and of GIOS.

GIOS_Kiwi Atlántico will compete for the second year in a row in the Continental UCI category, after a successful 2019 season where it achieved the following results in the UCI Europa Tour of Cycling:
Two stage victories of Andreas Miltiadis
One National Champion title of Cyprus with Andreas MIltiadis
4th place in the General Classment of the Tour of Rhodes, Greece
An outstanding Vuelta Aragón where the leadership of the Mountain’s classment of Jose Manuel Gutierrez, “el Gallo”.
The Team is planning the year 2020 as the consolidation season in the Continental UCI category where they are scheduling to debut with an American Tour starting at the Vuelta a Táchira in Venezuela followed by another possible competition in Colombia before heading to Europe to continue with the Team’s calendar over there. Additionally GIOS KIWI ATLANTICO is also planning an Asia/Pacific calendar with competitions in Japan and China to satisfy the demand of the Team’s sponsors.
During the 2020 season, the Team will also be reinforced with a pure sprinter that will be announced shortly and with Jose Manuel Gutierrez, Team’s leader and professor of young talents.
